Future Plans
As part of the visionary and far-reaching plans of the present government for the progress of development and for the implementation of "My Village My City" announced by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, the Department of Public Health Engineering has future plans under various projects for development of water supply and sanitation system in Cox's Bazar district. Establish a water source for every 50 people (10 families) as part of its ongoing implementation. To increase the use of surface water through digging of ponds for proper use of surface water and conservation of rain water, construction of surface water treatment plants to reduce ground water use and installation of piped water supply system in each union. Increasing the coverage of hygienic quality latrines and increasing the coverage of safe drinking water supply to 100 percent. Increase awareness on development and sustainability of sanitation and water supply in government shelter projects to improve people's living standards, increase coverage through sustainable development decentralization by adopting new projects (pipe schemes and improved sanitation) in the islands.
